About the Author

Yea-Fen Chen is coordinator of the Chinese language program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and has been teaching Chinese for over twenty years. She coauthored three other Chinese language textbooks: Integrated Chinese Level 1, Crossing Paths: Living and Learning in China, and Shifting Tides: Culture in Contemporary China.

Meng Yeh is a senior lecturer at Rice University and coauthor of Communicating in Chinese: Student Lab Workbook. She has provided consultation for many Chinese language programs at K-12 schools and colleges and has received the Sarofim Teaching Award. She founded the regional chapter of the Chinese Language Teachers Association in Texas.

Frances Yufen Lee Mehta is a senior lecturer at Cornell University and has taught Chinese for over twenty years. She is the author of Colloquial Chinese Reader and is the recipient of several awards, including the Clark Outstanding Teaching Award. She specializes in pedagogy, teacher training, and material development.

Mei-Ju Hwang is the lead Chinese teacher for the Springfield Chinese Program in Massachusetts. She has taught Chinese for over twenty years and leads the district Chinese curriculum development and assessment. She has received several awards in teaching excellence and is the recipient of the Distinguished Community Partner Award from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. She is also the coauthor of Flying with Chinese and a codeveloper for LangNet, directed by the National Foreign Language Center at the University of Maryland.

Yuanchao Meng teaches Chinese at Oak Hill Middle School in Newton, Massachusetts, and was a visiting senior instructor at Bridgewater State College for twenty years. She is the author of Setting the Stage for Chinese Level 1: Plays and Performances for Grades K-6 and Setting the Stage for Chinese Level 2: Plays and Performances for Grades 7-12.

Natasha Piercehas been an ESL and Chinese teacher for twenty years and currently teaches Chinese at Madison Memorial High School in Madison, Wisconsin. She has also worked as a teacher trainer. Amanda Wood is a self-taught artist currently residing in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to illustrations, she paints murals, designs comics, completes commissioned pet portraits, and, with her animation partner, creates informational animations and advertisements for Insight Virtual Schools.

Decent book.

I found this book to be good, however it could be better. Some chapters are well written and others I feel like they're copied and pasted. I would have to sit and reread certain sections for minutes to understand what is written and the author keeps referring back to previous editions, making it all the more difficult at times to grasp. It would also be beneficial if the book were to come with an interactive website and if the cd was sold with it. Instead, you have to pay extra for it and I don't think that's right. It isn't a bad book, just one that'll take you some time getting used to.

Not all that interesting- it is a textbook, after all. It is well organized and as easy to read as any text could be. I was required to read it in its entirety before my class, which I did, and felt well prepared once I got to my class lecture day.

This book, in my opinion is the best one in the topic of local anesthesia.
This 6th edition is well written, just like the previous one, covering the whole aspect of local anesthesia. This book is important for every one dealing with local anesthesia in the dental field. The chapter of anatomy is marvelous. The book arrived in excellent condition.

Still a great read

I have read both of these books in the 60's. They were great then and are still a thrill read now. Bagley has written many best sellers in the 60's and 70'. My favorites are The Golden Keel, The Spoilers , Running Blind, Wyatt"s Hurricane and High Citadel.

Roman's story, so much more than I expected!

Romans life changed with the death of his foster father. He blames himself and in order to cope with is guilt has taken to drinking and sleeping with whatever willing woman crosses his path. He's known as Romeo around town, his smokin hot body definitely doesn't hurt his hunt for a nightly bedmate.

And then he literally runs into a woman who won't drop her panties for him at the drop of a hat.

Franki has shut herself off from emotional entanglements, she's here for one reason and that's to find her missing sister. And then Roman throws a wrench in her plans when an accident forces her to stay in Crawley Creek for awhile. While stuck in town she's losing precious time looking for her sister, now she's forced to decide who she can trust with the truth.

Roman finds himself wanting to help Frankie, he wants her to open up to him and let him help her. Frankie needs help but she's afraid to accept it.

Can Frankie's problems help Roman with his own? Will these two be able to help heal each other along the way?

Another sexy brother from the Crawley Creek Ranch may have met his match, this time in a broken firecracker of a woman.

Loved Roman's journey, the man underneath the perceived persona was better than expected, it just took the right motivation to bring out his sexy protective nature.

Roman has been life in excess -girls and beer, since the death of his foster father. He has been harboring guilt ever since he found him dead.

Franki is looking for her sister and has come to Montford after a lead. After an unfortunate accident with her bike caused by Roman she is stuck at Crawley Creek until it is fixed or her sister is found.

What they both don't expect is they help each other through the tough times ahead and find that the other person is what they needed to move forward in their lives.

Lori has written another great emotional book that allows the characters to grow and find what they don't even know they are looking for.

Grade 1-3-A creative way to instill an appreciation of art in children. The text begins with a "hand-printed" letter on lined paper from the teacher, Ms. Brandt, posing three questions to her students for their reports about a famous artist. The rest of the book is related as Keesia Johnson's report. Hartland's color illustrations are captioned with dialogue or other text; examples of Matisse's art are dispersed throughout; and there are photos of the artist and his mother; of the child who "wrote" the report and her sister; of Matisse in his 70s, making paper cutouts; and of stained-glass windows in a church that he designed. A brief biographical sketch is included, and children are also told about Matisse's changes in style, use of bright colors, and skill in various mediums. The last page contains the teacher's "hand-printed" note to Keesia after reading her work. This book could be used in conjunction with Mike Venezia's Henri Matisse (Children's, 1997), Nelly Munthe's Meet Matisse (Little, Brown, 1983; o.p.), and Ernest Lloyd Raboff's Henri Matisse (Lippincott, 1988; o.p.) to introduce the life and works of this renowned French artist.

An amusing introduction to the artist Matisse that I highly recommend. Written as though it's an 8-yr-old's school report, it is accessible and very informative. It includes reproductions of Matisse art and biographical information. Loved it. And it was useful as a teaching tool.

Well written, well researched, and on point. Green Giants seamlessly lays out the importance and profitability of a sustainability mindset in our current economic climate. 'Go big' and 'go green' are not only compatible, they are essential partners in creating break-through, billion-dollar companies. Williams cogently argues for sustainability in business by detailing the achievements of nine model "Green Giant" companies and investigating the secrets to their success. While the text is chock-full of hard facts to quell any lingering doubts, Williams's language makes this book a pleasure to read.
